No. 22 - Duet - Fantana and Sinclair

MIDI File

Sinclair: Since first your radiant eyes met mine
And I gazed in their depths so blue,
I could plainly see you were meant for me
And I was meant for you.
Fantana: I knew at that time that by right divine
As well as I know it now,
That do what I might, I was yours all right,
Yet I can't explain just how.
If you ask me why I love you,
I will ask you if you know
Why the tiny stars above you
Nightly shine upon us so.
There is something in your manner,
There is something in your smile,
There is something seems to tell me
You are just my style.

Sinclair: I know lots of girls who are very, very dear,
Lots of girls with an eye to thrill,
Pretty girls who be very fair to see
But you are fairer still.
Fantana: I know lots of men who are handsome chaps
And think that perhaps they'd do,
I feel when they call I could love them all,
But I am engaged to you.
If you ask me why I love you,
I will ask you if you know
Why the tiny stars above you
Nightly shine upon us so.
There is something in your manner,
There is something in your smile,
There is something seems to tell me
You are just my style.
