No. 18 - Entrance of Flai-Hai

MIDI File

Chorus: If you wonder why our King
Does not come before us,
We come first, that we may sing
A welcome chorus.
In the realm of comic plays, it is our impression
He who rules must tag along behind the procession.
Give a loud hooray!
Let the music play,
For our mighty ruler has come back to us today.
Banners waving gay,
Let the trumpets bray,
For our Sho-Gun has returned today.
Flai-Hai is ruler of the earth,
By merest accident of birth.
Greet him with cheers ecstatic
In manner operatic,
We hail our monarch today.
In the realm of comic plays, it is our impression
He who rules must tag along behind the procession.
It would seem to be a rule of our great profession,
We precede him just to mention
He deserves your close attention.
Cheers for great Flai-Hai,
He is the main guy,
He is the main guy.
