Emperor: There's nothing like a little pat,
Throughout this busy earth.
Yen Yen: Most people know its value and its true intrinsic worth.
Tom: There's the little pat of butter which at breakfast we employ,
Soo Soo: There's the pat of rain upon the earth which gives the farmer joy.
Pineapple: There's the pat remark of the witty man that's known as repartee,
Fi Fi: There's the Pat that comes from Ireland;
A broth of a boy is he.
Hi Lung: But all the pats upon the earth a sterling virtue lack
Marie Pineapple:  Compar'd with the pat, the artful pat,
The pat upon the back.
All: The pat upon the back.
The pat upon the back.
Soo Soo: You pat me and I'll pat you
Tom: And then we sha'n't do wrong.
Yen Yen: Pat yourself and neighbour too,
Fi Fi: And pass the pat along.
Emperor: Flattery each one adores.
Pineapple: This is a maxim sound,
Hi Lung: You pat my back and I'll pat your back
Marie Pineapple: And then we'll smile all round.
All: You pat me and I'll pat you
And then we sha'n't do wrong.
Pat yourself and neighbours too,
And pass the pat along.
Flattery each one adores.
This is a maxim sound,
You pat my back, I'll pat your back,
You pat my back, I'll pat your back,
You pat my back, I'll pat your back,
And then we'll smile all round.

Emperor: Without the artful little pat what would creation be.
Yen Yen: It gives a pungency to life as all wise folk agree.
Tom: Without the pat of butter from our food we'd sadly go.
Soo Soo: Without the pat of raindrop not a single flow'r would grow.
Mr. Pineapple: Without the pat remark dull care would have a mighty pull,
Fi Fi: Without the Pat from Ireland, we'd miss the merry bull.
Hi Lung: But of all the merry pats we know, there's one we'd miss a lack,
Marie Pineapple: The greatest pat of all the pats,
The pat upon the back.
