No. 5 - Song - Sally - "Fly away, kite"

MIDI File

Sally: A little paper toy at best,
A thing as frail as any flower.
Yet North or South, or East or West,
Away up in the Heavens you may tower;
For when the breeze about you blows,
If you are in the vein to fly,
And as a swallow lightly goes
You soar above toward the sky,
You're quite at home up in the sky;
Would I were you that I might know
The many mysteries that charm you so.
Fly away, kite, fly away, kite,
Deck'd with your colours so bright red and white,
Travel afar, ask ev'ry star
What is it thinking of, morning and night;
Come back and say, in your own way,
All you have seen in your wonderful flight.
Tell me if love is the same up above.
Fly away, bright little kite.

  If I were you I'd never rest
Upon the earth for any while,
If with your wings I were but blest,
Each moment to my heart would mean a mile;
Among the birds I'd find a home.
And then the tree-tops I would scour,
'Mid clouds of purple I would roam,
A queen of space just for an hour,
I'd be a queen just for an hour.
Each constellation would be mine,
Among the planets I alone would shine;
Fly away, kite, fly away, kite,
Deck'd with your colours so bright red and white,
Travel afar, ask ev'ry star
What is it thinking of, morning and night;
Come back and say, in your own way,
All you have seen in your wonderful flight.
Tell me if love is the same up above.
Fly away, bright little kite,
With your colours so bright red and white,
Bright little kite.
