GILBERT AND SULLIVAN MARATHON TALK.

The Editor has frequently toyed with the idea of holding a Gilbert and Sullivan "talk" or pow-wow. This is as a result of many fascinating and stimulating discussions he has had with friends and fellow-enthusiasts at various times, when interesting exchanges of ideas have taken place. The idea of the "talk" would be to get a dozen or so real fanatical enthusiasts together in a room, with a long-playing tape-recorder ticking away unobtrusively in the background, and for everybody to simply to talk G&S for about 6 hours (with occasional intervals for refreshment and other necessities). I feel that something very stimulating might come out of it. I have mentioned the idea at various times to various people, who seemed to think it was a good idea. The question is where and when to hold such a meeting, My own living accommodation is too small for such a meeting. If any reader has any ideas as to possible venues, times, etc for such a meeting, or would simply be interested in taking part in it wherever it was to be held, please write to me and tell me all about it.
