To MIDI File Ever Faithful

(77.77.)

Composed for “Church Hymns with Tunes”, S.P.C.K., 1874.

1 Let us with a gladsome mind
Praise the Lord, for He is kind:
2 Who by His wisdom did create
The painted heavens so full of state:
    For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.
      For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

3 Who did the solid earth ordain
To rise above the watery plain:
4 Who by His all-commanding might,
Did fill the new-made world with light;
    For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.
      For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

5 And called the golden-tressèd sun
All the day long his course to run:
6 The hornèd moon to shine by night,
Amongst her spangled sisters bright:
    For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.
      For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

7 All living creatures He doth feed,
And with full hand supplies their need:
  8

Let us therefore warble forth
His mighty majesty and worth:

    For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.
      For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.
