Madge Evans (1881-83)

Margaret Eliza (Madge) Evans toured in the chorus of The Pirates of Penzance with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "E" Company in April 1881.She later had a small part (probably Jane) in the companion piece Mock Turtles, when it was played by Carte's No. 2 "Patience" Company in 1883. She was the first wife of D'Oyly Carte baritone Allen Morris, whom she wed in 1883. She toured as a chorister with him in The Lady Slavey during the 1890s, but then disappears from view. Morris would marry another chorine, the teen-aged Nell Raymond in 1902.
