THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

Thomas Evans (1888)

Thomas Evans appeared in the non-singing parts of the Sergeant of Marines in H.M.S. Pinafore and Mr. Bunthorne's Solicitor in Patience on tour with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "C" (Repertory) Company between February and June 1888.

It is uncertain whether he was a chorister or a staff member. There was a music hall singer named Thomas Evans, born c.1845, who was in Preston, England, in April 1881, at the same time as D'Oyly Carte's touring "B" Company. And there was a scenic artist known as Tom Evans who died March 11, 1903.The D'Oyly Carte Thomas Evans may have been either, or neither.
