Millie Fairleigh (1886-87)

Millie Fairleigh first appeared at the Savoy under D'Oyly Carte management as a juvenile Mabel in February 1885 at the Savoy in the children's production of The Pirates of Penzance. She then went on tour as Mabel with the same Company from February through June 1885, and again in August and September.

Miss Fairleigh later toured as an adult with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "E" Company in 1886 and 1887. She appeared as Peep-Bo in The Mikado in December 1886 and from March to December 1887 when Agnes Taylor, the previous Peep-Bo, succeeded Bessie Wilkinson as Yum-Yum. Millie Fairleigh left to perform in a Christmas pantomime, Robinson Crusoe, in Dublin. Over the next twenty years she appreared regularly in panto and as a concert vocalist.
