John Fraser

John Fraser (1934-35)

Baritone John Fraser first appeared professionally in Gilbert & Sullivan in Australia with the J. C. Williamson Company in 1931 as a chorister. By 1933 he had moved into several named parts including Luiz in The Gondoliers. The following year he joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, appearing from January 1934 to June 1935. A chorister and understudy, he appeared on occasion as Strephon in Iolanthe, Luiz in Gondoliers, and Mr. Cox in Cox and Box.

In 1936 he was back in the Australia with the Williamson organization.
