THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

Emily Hebden (1890-94)

Soprano Emily Hebden toured with three different D'Oyly Carte Opera companies in the early 1890s. She was Kate in The Yeomen of the Guard with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "D" between August and December 1890, took several roles at various times (Peep-Bo and Yum-Yum in The Mikado, Kate in Yeomen, and Fiametta and Casilda in The Gondoliers) with Company "C" during 1891, and then toured from January to December 1892 with Company "B," where her duties appear to have been limited to the chorus until December when she deputized as Winifred in The Vicar of Bray. Her last named parts with the D'Oyly Carte organization were Celia in Iolanthe (January 1894), the Plaintiff in Trial by Jury, Kate in The Pirates of Penzance, and Casilda in Gondoliers (all March 1894) filling in for Mary Morison with with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "C".
