Effie Hoather was born Effie Joyce Albrow in 1895. Her husband, Harold Hoather, died of wounds suffered in World War I. She was a soprano chorister with the D'Oyly Carte Repertory Opera Company from October 1923 to November 1925. Her nephew, Bernard Albrow, appeared with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company between 1937 and 1940.
