THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

Annie Lockwood (1881)

Annie Lockwood was in the chorus of General Stanley's daughters in The Pirates of Penzance at the gala opening of Halleck's Alhambra, Boston, in July 1880 (a non-D'Oyly Carte production but one with Carte's blessing). She later appeared in the chorus with one of two R. D'Oyly Carte and E. E. Rice Opera Companies playing Billee Taylor in America in the spring of 1881.
