THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
(Mr.) Mitchell (1878-79)
A Mr. Mitchell was the Sergeant of Marines with the touring Comedy Opera Company in the first provincial production of H.M.S. Pinafore, September-December 1878, and on a subsequent tour, April-May 1880. The Sergeant is a silent role and Mitchell may well have been a staff member rather than a chorister.
