Contralto Aimee Shergold appeared with the D'Oyly Carte Principal Repertory Opera Company from July 1913 to February 1916 as a chorister and as Inez in The Gondoliers. She was understudy to Louie Rene and, later, Bertha Lewis in the principal contralto roles going on for Miss Lewis as Katisha in The Mikado and the Queen of the Fairies in Iolanthe on back-to-back nights in January 1915.
