THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

Rose Smith (1885, 1887?)

Rose Smith toured with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "C" (Repertory) Company in 1885, appearing as Gladys, the draper's niece, in the Frank Desprez & Edward Solomon "vaudeville" Round & Square, that played with H.M.S. Pinafore from April to July 1885.

A Miss Smith, possibly Rose, later served as a chorister with Carte's Continental Company on tour in Germany, Austria, and Holland from April to September 1887.
