Marjorie Stone (1909-11)

Soprano Marjorie Stone spent two seasons with the D'Oyly Carte Principal Repertory Opera Company. During her first (July 1909-June 1910), she appeared regularly as the Plaintiff in Trial by Jury, Peep-Bo in The Mikado, and Fiametta in The Gondoliers, while filling in on occasion in as Isabel in The Pirates of Penzance and in the larger roles of Elsie Maynard in The Yeomen of the Guard and Casilda in The Gondoliers.

In July 1910 she was promoted to principal soprano. For the July 1910-June 1911 season her roles were Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Patience in Patience, Phyllis in Iolanthe, Princess Ida in Princess Ida, Yum-Yum in The Mikado, Elsie in Yeomen, and Casilda in Gondoliers. Marjorie Stone left the Company in June 1911 at the end of her second season.
