No. 21 - Song - Rajah and Chorus - "It Will All Come Right."
Rajah: | When once I was given to dances, No doubt I committed some faults, But never it entered my fancies That I didn't know how to waltz. The style that they waltz in this new time Is utterly novel to me; I used to perform it in two-time And now I must do it in three! It will all come right in the future, Though I cannot quite manage it now, For it goes rather quick with two glides and a kick, And I'm trying to find out how. |
Chorus: | It will all come right in the future, Though I cannot quite manage it now, I am full of regrets when my partner upsets, And I never can make out how. |
Rajah: | When a statesman proposes a measure, He'll carry it through if he can. And it gives us a great deal of pleasure To support such an excellent plan. If to bring it to perfect fruition He thinks it is best to resign, Then the height of his lofty ambition Is crowned with a sentiment fine! It will all come right in the future, Though we cannot at present see how, But it's bound to be so, as our wonderful Joe Is at work on the problem now. |
Chorus: | It will all come right in the future, Though we cannot at present see how, He is bound to get back, for he never will lack The support that we give him now. |
Rajah: | We hear a good deal of "Protection" At meetings that finish in scenes! But I fancy, on careful reflection, That few of us know what it means. We argue with great animation, Some say it will bring us to grief! For what shall we be as a nation If we can't afford mutton and beef? It will all come right in the future, Tho' we cannot exactly see how. But if oxen are dear, it is perfectly clear We shall have to rely on Cow! |
Chorus: | It will all come right in the future, Tho' we cannot exactly see how. And if bread we don't boast, we must live upon toast And be thinner perhaps than now! |
Rajah: | When people are talking together, You know it's a thousand to one They'll grumble concerning the weather And mention the spots on the sun. They say that a climate that's steady Is all they are anxious to get, But they really have got it already, For it's steadily settling to wet! It will all come right in the future, Or at least we are hoping it now. But if ever the rain should intend to refrain, It had better be starting now! |
Chorus: | It will all come right in the future, Or at least we are hoping it now. If the mischief is done by the spotty old sun, It's no wonder he's hiding now! |
Rajah: | Just now there's a lot of discussion Away in the East which is Far! The Jap isn't fond of the Russian, Which troubles the excellent Czar! He shuns any warlike bravado, For peace is the dreeam of his soul, So, he and the gentle Mikado Are laying in cannon and coal. It will all come right in the future, So the Russians at present declare, For their claims they will drop, And annexing will stop, Tho' they haven't yet told us where. |
Chorus: | It will all come right in the future, So the Russians at present declare, And they must put it right, As the Jappy will fight In a way that will make them stare. |
