"My Birthday Party"
Nancy: | I want to give a birthday party here, |
All: | Birthday parties come only once a year. |
Fitzthistle: | Ask ev'ry relative and friend you've got, |
All: | Never mind if there are a lot. |
Frank: | Give them a dinner and supper too, Show them what the Savoy can do. |
Ellen: | Lots of dancing there'll be, no doubt, And a good deal of sitting out. |
All: | Very nice indeed! It will be splendid fun For us and ev'ryone, And our enjoyment will be so hearty, And all the friends we know Will be so glad to go To such a bright little birthday party. |
Nancy: | I want to do things in a style that's grand, |
All: | Mind you hire quite a first-rate band. |
Fitzthistle: | Smother the place with heaps of flow'rs and ferns, |
All: | Let some stars from the Halls give turns. |
Frank: | Treat your guests to a menu fine, Give them only the choicest wine. |
Ellen: | Then you'll never get rid of them Till about five or six A. M. |
All: | Very nice indeed! It will be splendid fun For us and ev'ryone, And our enjoyment will be so hearty, If later on we feel We'd like another meal, We'll finish up with a breakfast party. |
