Girls: Mister Hook had arranged his house entirely on a novel plan.
Mister Hook, Mister Hook, haven't you heard of Mister Hook?
All he had for a start in life was such a shiny copper pan —
Mister Hook, Mister Hook, independent Mister Hook!
And that he used in many a way —
It came in handy on washing day.
In the wonderful house that Hook built
He didn't use common soap;
And he's not a bit rough with a collar or cuff,
A splash in the tub and they're clean (I hope!)
In the wonderful house that Hook built.
On Mondays, if you look,
Hung out on the line
Are the clothes superfine
Of the wonderful house of Hook!

  Mister Hook really must have had an economical turn of mind.
Mister Hook, Mister Hook, thoughtful and thrifty Mister Hook!
Why should he be obliged to pay someone else his corn to grind?
Mister Hook, Mister Hook, rather a stingy Mister Hook!
And so his most remarkable brain
Just found a use for the can again.
In the wonderful house that Hook built,
A windmill it became;
As soon as you please, a puff of a breeze,
(Oh, goodness, this is a draughty game!)
In the wonderful house that Hook built.
Just step inside and look,
The loaves on the shelf
Are made by himself
In the wonderful house of Hook!

  Mister Hook, as perhaps you've heard, was really a most impatient man —
Mister Hook, Mister Hook, have you heard of that Mister Hook?
When he wanted to go for a sail he had a most ingenious plan —
Mister Hook, Mister Hook, very inventive Mister Hook!
And as he never could bear delay
He just arrang'd to start away.
From the wonderful house that Hook built,
As quickly as he desired,
He hoisted the sail with a hearty hail,
And the can was all that he required.
In the wonderful house that Hook built,
It only a moment took;
In less than a jiff,
He's off in his skiff,
From the wonderful house of Hook!
Chorus: From the wonderful house that Hook built,
As quickly as he desired,
He hoisted the sail with a hearty hail,
And the can was all that he required.
In the wonderful house that Hook built,
It only a moment took;
In less than a jiff,
He's off in his skiff,
From the wonderful house of Hook!

Girls: Mister Hook in the winter months was even cuter than before —
Mister Hook, Mister Hook, cold and frosty Mister Hook!
He had lots of accounts to pay, and was not keen for any more —
Mister Hook, Mister Hook, shrewd and thrifty Mister Hook!
A carpenter he would not employ
For to work himself was his greatest joy.
From the wonderful house that Hook built,
In a sledge he would drive away.
The neighbours all own
He built it alone,
A wonderful feat, I think you'd say;
From the wonderful house that Hook built,
Five minutes it only took
To drive through the town
Then back again down
To the wonderful house of Hook!
Chorus: From the wonderful house that Hook built,
In a sledge he would drive away.
The neighbours all own
He built it alone,
A wonderful feat, I think you'd say;
From the wonderful house that Hook built,
Five minutes it only took
To drive through the town
Then back again down
To the wonderful house of Hook!
