No. 29 - Additional Number - Slinks
Slinks: | I wonder who on earth the fool could have been Who first invented work? I can't think what advantage he could have seen To be gained from a thing like work! I'm perfectly sure work can't be right For a man with a delicate appetite; What's more, to this belief I cling: Work's a positively dangerous thing! So I'm going out to buy a pistol, I'm going out to buy a gun; I'm going to fetch a pound Of dynamite around, Most probably I'll bring a ton or two; I want a dog with hydrophobia, And if possible a wrestling Turk, And I'll keep them on the shelf To defend myself From anyone who brings me work! |
I've never seen a single man look strong Who died from over-work! It's my belief that men would live twice as long If women did all the work! I've insured my house, I've insured my life, I've insured myself against kissing my wife; So now a policy I'll obtain Against ever doing any work again! |
