No. 17 - Song - Floot - Lazy!

MIDI File

Floot: The art of being lazy
Is a science in its way;
I reckon I've been
Pretty fairly lazy in my day.
But these are days of records,
And I've broken four or five,
I want to be so lazy
That I shan't know I'm alive!
Oh, I want to be lazy!
Really lazy!
I want to have plenty of time to thnk,
Meat to eat, tea to drink!
How I've fought against hurry,
It does seem a little bit rough,
I've tried and I've tried to be lazy,
And yet I can never get lazy enough!

  There's lots of things I do
That someone else might do for me;
Why can't I get a man
To eat my lunch and drink my tea?
I'd like to get someone to walk upstairs
While I stay down;
And somebody to have my bath
While I go out of town!
Oh, I want to be lazy!
Really lazy!
I want to have someone to count my shares,
Say my prayers, swear my swears!
I'm so fond of you ladies,
I'm loving as loving can be!
But it's far too much trouble to make love to you,
So you've all got to make love to me!

  I want to get someone
To cross the street when it is wet,
And somebody to smoke
What I pretend's a cigarette;
And if I ever marry,
Which I shouldn't do, of course,
I'd like someone to suffer
All the subsequent remorse!
Oh, I want to be lazy!
Really lazy!
I want to have someone to bear my woes,
Wear my clo'es, blow my nose!
Oh, I want to be lazy,
And if I intend to I will!
A new Labour Member I once thought I'd be,
But I want to be lazier still!
