Katherine Thomasina "Kate" Allwood toured with the Comedy Opera Company managed by Richard DOyly Carte in 1878. She sang in the chorus on Trial by Jury, The Sorcerer, and the first Provincial production of H.M.S. Pinafore, and played Susanna in Congenial Souls (a companion piece written by J. H. Ryley).
