THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
(Mr.) C. Barrett (1889-92?)
Mr. C. Barrett was a tenor chorister who understudied Leonard Meryll during the first run of The Yeomen of the Guard at Savoy, filling in on occasion toward the end of the run (November 1889). He continued in the Savoy chorus for The Gondoliers, assuming the small part of Francesco from September 1890 until the end of its run in June 1891. There was a Mr. Barrett in the chorus for the next opera at the Savoy (The Nautch Girl, June 1891 to January 1892), but it is unclear whether this was C. or F. Barrett.
