THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
John Bayliss (m.d., 1879)
[Died 21 Aug 1906 (59)]
John Bayliss was musical director for D'Oyly Carte's "First Pinafore Company" on tour in England from October 1879, when he took over from W. F. Glover, until December 13 of that year, when the Company disbanded. It was his only engagement with the D'Oyly Carte organization.
His career as a musical director lasted at least until the early 1890s, at which point he was serving as musical director at London's Terry's Theatre.
