THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
Charles Bloomfield (1919-20)

Charles Bloomfield was a member of the D'Oyly Carte Repertory Opera Company chorus from September 1919 to January 1920.
Before joining the D'Oyly Carte, he had appeared in grand opera in Carmeni and Madam Butterfly at the Shaftesbury Theatre (1918), and in The Daughter of Madame Angot at Drury Lane (July and August 1919).
Upon leaving the D'Oyly Carte, he went to the Scala Theatre in London where he appeared as an extra in Society Ltd, a musical play by Arthur Branscombe and Arthur Carrington, in March and April 1920.
