George Bowley (1878-82)

George Bowley appeared as Hercules, the page, with Carte's touring Comedy Opera Company from March to August 1878 in the first provincial production of The Sorcerer. In April 1881, he created the part of Mr. Bunthorne's Solicitor in Patience at the Opera Comique, and played it throughout its initial run there and at the Savoy. He may have been a chorister or perhaps a member of the production staff who took these non-singing walk-on parts.
