Richard Braebrook (1976-80)

Richard Braebrook received his training at the Huddersfield School of Music and the Royal College in London before joining the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in August 1976 as tenor chorister. His surname was at first spelled Brabrooke in D'Oyly Carte programmes and publications. He understudied several principal tenor roles and appeared on occasion as Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance (1976-78), Nanki-Poo in The Mikado (1976-80), and Prince Hilarion in Princess Ida (1977-78).
Braebrook left the D'Oyly Carte in August 1980. He subsequently appeared with English National Opera in several productions including Patience (1984), The Mikado (1986-87 and 1989-90), and Princess Ida (1992-93).
