THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
Jacqueline Browning (1948-49)
Jacqueline Browning was a soprano chorister with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company from September 1948 to July 1949. Miss Browning's first appearance on the London Stage was in Noel Coward's Pacific 1860 (Drury Lane, December 1946-April 1947). She appeared in the chorus of The Dubarry (Princes, October-November 1947), before joining the D'Oyly Carte.
Upon leaving the Company, she turned to grand opera, appearing frequently at Covent Garden between 1949 and 1958 as the Milliner in Der Rosenkavalier, and on occasion as a lady in Troilus and Cressida.
