Baritone Paul Burrows studied at the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After leaving college, he spent one season as a member of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company chorus, from September 1975 to July 1976. After leaving the D'Oyly Carte, he worked at various times for the Bach Festival English Musical Theatre Company, Opera For All, Cameron Mackintosh Productions, and the New Music Theatre Company. He also appeared in the chorus of the 1978 Festival of London production of The Yeomen of the Guard directed by Anthony Besch.
In 1981 he joined the English National Opera. He left ENO in 1990 to pursue a freelance career, but rejoined for the 1996-97 season, which included a production of The Mikado. Now known as Paul Napier-Burrows, he continues to appear with ENO and has also recently taken roles with Kentish Opera. Paul Napier-Burrows also teaches voice with an organization called LMFL.
