W. J. Courtney (1875)

William J. Courtney succeeded Walter H. Fisher as the Defendant in May 1875 during the initial run of Trial by Jury at the Royalty Theatre.He played the Defendant until December 1875, and again in April and May 1876, after it had transferred to the Opera Comique.After October 1875 the production was no longer under D'Oyly Carte management.
