Laura Crombie (1938-49)

Isabella Laura Crombie was a contralto chorister with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company from February 1938 to July 1949.Beginning in January 1945 she appeared regularly as Giulia in The Gondoliers, and filled in briefly for Caryl Fane as Inez in the same opera during the 1947-48 season while Miss Fane deputized for Ella Halman as the Duchess of Plaza-Toro.

Miss Crombie was married to D'Oyly Carte assistant musical director Alan E. Ward.
