Josephine (Brenda) Gale (1961-63)

Josephine Gale, whose real last name was Nightingale, was known as Brenda Gale when she joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in September 1961. During her first season with the Company she adopted Josephine Gale as her stage name. In her nearly two years with the Company:she left in July 1963:she appeared occasionally as Celia in Iolanthe.

She later performed with the Sadler's Wells and English National Opera companies.
