Phyllis Grey (1905-06, 1906-07)

Contralto Phyllis Grey joined the D'Oyly Carte Principal Repertory Opera Company in July 1905. She appeared with the Company in Cape Town as Inez in The Gondoliers (December 1905-February 1906). She then left the Carte organization to join Anna Held in America, appearing in New York as Denise in a Florenz Ziegfeld production of the musical comedy A Parisian Model (Broadway Theatre, November 1906).

She left the cast within a month, rejoining the D'Oyly Carte Principal Repertory Opera Company, where she filled in as Katisha in The Mikado, Dame Carruthers in The Yeomen of the Guard, and Inez again (all December 1906-January 1907).
