[Born Putney, London 19 Aug 1890, died Budleigh Salterton, Devon 20 Mar 1965]
Evelyn Mabel Griffiths was with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company chorus for the First and Second London Repertory Seasons at the Savoy: December 1906-August 1907 and April 1908-March 1909, respectively. In December 1909 she joined the D'Oyly Carte Principal Repertory Opera Company on tour. Over the next four years she appeared more-or-less regularly as Giulia in The Gondoliers, and filled in from time to time in 1910-11 as Peep-Bo in The Mikado. She left the D'Oyly Carte organization in March 1914.
She later made a single appearance in London, with the Interlude Players, as Miss Nixon in a single matinee performance of a three-act "quaint adventure" called Hey Presto! (Kingsway, May 1923).
She was married to D'Oyly Carte tenor Henry Herbert.
