THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
(Mr.) James (1887)
[Born c.1856]
Between February and April 1887, Mr. James (first name not given in programs) was one of the ghosts in Ruddygore (Sir Conrad Murgatroyd) with Carte's First American Ruddygore Company at New York's Fifth Avenue Theatre. We now know that his first name was Albert, though he is clearly not the better known Albert James whose extensive D'Oyly Carte career is documented elsewhere on this site, and who was engaged elsewhere in 1887.
