Mr. C. Jones began a tour of North America as Major-General Stanley with D'Oyly Carte's Third American Pirates of Penzance Company on February 16, 1880, in Newark, New Jersey. By the time the tour reached Reading, Pennsylvania, on February 21, Jones had been succeeded by William Gillow.
