Ceinwen Louise Jones served in the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company chorus from July 1946 to August 1963.From August 1948 until July 1960 she played the small part of Vittoria in The Gondoliers, a part she sang on the Company's 1960 stereo recording.She also appeared on occasion as Inez in The Gondoliers (1948-49), and took the small parts of Kate in The Pirates of Penzance and Leila in Iolanthe for a portion of the 1951-52 season.

In October 1955 she married Assistant Stage Manager (former performer and future Stage Manager) Herbert Newby.
