George T. R. Knorr of the Unitarian Church, Germantown, Pennsylvania, appeared as Dick Deadeye in Philadelphia and on tour with Gorman's Church Choir Pinafore Company in 1879. In February to March 1880 he toured the U.S. as the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance with D'Oyly Carte's Fourth American Pirates Company. In March he transferred to Carte's Second Pirates Company in PPhiladelphia where he appeared again as Pirate King and, when Pinafore was presented instead in April, as Dick Deadeye. The Company finished with one week in Pinafore in Baltimore, ending June 1, 1880.
