Florence Elizabeth Lambeth began her career as a young concert singer in her native Scotland in the choir of her father H. A. Lambert, coductor of the Glasgow Choral Union. She joined the D'Oyly Carte organiztion for a short tour with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "C" (Repertory) Company from September to December 1885. Her roles were the Plaintiff in Trial by Jury, Constance Partlett in The Sorcerer, Isabel and Kate in The Pirates of Penzance, and the Lady Ella in Patience. She then moved on to London's Gaiety Theatre where she created to part of Phyllis Tuppittt in Stephenson & Cellier's Dorothy. She later toured with several opera companies before returning to Scotland in 1895, where she continued to perform in concert and stage productions into the 20th century.
