Alfred Lawton served in the D'Oyly Carte "New" Opera Company chorus from December 1923 until June 1927, when the "New" Company was disbanded. During his last season with them (July 1926-June 1927) he took the small part of Francesco in The Gondoliers. He appeared with the consolidated D'Oyly Carte Opera Company chorus when the next season began in July 1927, but left the Company the following month.
