THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
A. G. Nichols (1881)
A. G. Nichols was likely in the chorus with R. D'Oyly Carte and E. E. Rice's Second American Billee Taylor Company touring the spring of 1881. He went on in the title role in Chicago during the week of April 18 and the following week in Washington, D.C. By the time the Company reached Baltimore on May 2 Eugene Clarke had resumed the role. Nichols later toured with the Boston Ideals, taking the small role of Mustapha in Fatinitza at New York's Booth Theatre in February 1882.
