Jennifer North (1921-27)

Mezzo-soprano Jennifer North, born Annie Mary Hannah, served with the D'Oyly Carte "New" Opera Company from June 1921 until the Company was disbanded in June 1927. A chorister, she eventually assumed the small parts of Fleta in Iolanthe (1925-26), Isabel in The Pirates of Penzance (1926-27), and Giulia in The Gondoliers (1926-27). She also filled in on occasion between 1822 and 1926 as Pitti-Sing in The Mikado, and during the 1922-23 season as Tessa in The Gondoliers.
Miss North was married to fellow D'Oyly Carte chorister George Straughton.
