Ranee Pilkington (1916-19)

Contralto Ranee Pilkington was a member of the D'Oyly Carte Repertory Opera Company chorus from February 1916 to June 1919. In July 1917 she assumed the small part of Mrs. Partlett in The Sorcerer, but yielded the role to Anna Bethell the following year.

She left the Company upon her marriage, but in the 1930s returned to the theatre. In 1948 she was appointed to the Highgate branch of RADA, as principal singing and vocal teacher, a position she held for many years.
