Tatiana Preston made her London Stage debut as Miss Wordsworth in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring (Lyric, Hammersmith, 1951), and also sang for Britten at the Aldeborough Festival. She joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in November 1952 as principal soprano, appearing as Phyllis in Iolanthe, Yum-Yum in The Mikado, Rose Maybud in Ruddigore, and Casilda in The Gondoliers for the next two years. Miss Preston left the Company in December 1954.
