THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
H. Carlyle Pritchard (1900-02)
H. Carlyle Pritchard was with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company at the Savoy from at least July 1900, when he created the part of Walter in the one-act Bartholeyns & Clarke operetta The Outpost, which served as a curtain raiser for revivals of The Pirates of Penzance (July-November 1900) and Patience (November-December 1900). He also played Mr. Bunthorne's Solicitor in Patience, which ran until April 1901.
Pritchard may have been in the Savoy chorus when The Emerald Isle opened in April 1901, but he eventually left the Savoy to play Doctor Fiddle, D.D. in that opera on tour with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "D" from September 1901 to May 1902.
