Percy Rendell

Percy Rendell (m.d., 1920-24)

[Born London 29 Apr 1883, died Southgate 27 Jan 1942]

Percy Emerson Rendell was stage manager and coach for the Gloucester Amateur Operatic Society before joining the D'Oyly Carte "New" Opera Company as musical director in March 1920, replacing Leonard Day. He served in that capacity for better than four years: until June 1924.

His only appearance in a London playbill came four years later, as acting manager for a three-act farce at the Vaudeville called Who's Who (May 1928). It ran for just four performances. Throughout the 1930s he produced a number of amateur operas and musicals in the Great Britain.
