(Miss) Ray Vivian (1896-1903)
Prior to joining the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company at the Savoy, Miss Ray Vivian had one named part on the London Stage:as Rosina in the burlesque The Babes (Strand Theatre, February 1895). The Babes ran for just twelve performances.
Miss Vivian was a contralto chorister with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company at the Savoy from at least July 1896 (revival of The Mikado) through May 1903 (the first London production of A Princess of Kensington). In May 1903 she took over the part of Nell Reddish in A Princess of Kensington at the tail end of the run following the departure of Rosina Brandram.
