THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
Frank Walsh |
Frank Walsh (1890)
Tenor Frank A. Walsh assumed the part of Leonard Meryll in The Yeomen of the Guard with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "E" in January 1890. When Company "E" launched the first provincial production of The Gondoliers in February of that year, Walsh took the role of Francesco. The part of Francesco disappeared from the Company "E" program later that year, and with it Walsh's name. It appears to have been his last role with the D'Oyly Carte organization.
Walsh later appeared from time-to-time in London at the Lyric, Shaftesbury, Prince of Wales's, Daly's, Garrick, Waldorf, Aldwych, Wyndham's, Savoy, and Strand Theatres between 1892 and 1910.
