Sybil Willey (1952-56)

Sybil Willey was a chorister and leading contralto understudy with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company from November 1952 to April 1956. She appeared regularly as Inez in The Gondoliers throughout her tenure, and filled in from time-to-time for Ann Drummond-Grant as Katisha in The Mikado (1953-56), the Duchess of Plaza-Toro in The Gondoliers (1953-55), the Queen of the Fairies in Iolanthe (1953-55), Little Buttercup in H.M.S. Pinafore (1954-55), Lady Blanche in Princess Ida (1954-55), Dame Carruthers in The Yeomen of the Guard (1954-55), Dame Hannah in Ruddigore (1955), and Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance (1955).

She was married to D'Oyly Carte baritone C. Morgan Gray.
